Terminator 2: Judgment Day is a 1991 science fiction action film directed by James Cameron, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong, and Robert Patrick. The film is a sequel to Cameron's 1984 film The Terminator, and follows Sarah Connor and her son John as they are pursued by a new, advanced Terminator, the T-1000, sent back in time to kill John and prevent him from leading the human race in a future war against artificial intelligence. John and Sarah enlist the help of the reprogrammed T-800 Terminator (also played by Schwarzenegger) to protect them and prevent Judgment Day. Together, they must confront and ultimately destroy the T-1000 in a thrilling, action-packed finale. The film won four Academy Awards in 1992, including Best Visual Effects, and grossed over $520 million worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing films of all time.
