Halloween is a 1978 horror classic directed by John Carpenter and starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Donald Pleasence, and Nick Castle. It follows the story of Michael Myers, who, as a child, kills his sister and is then placed in a mental institution. Fifteen years later, Michael escapes and returns to his hometown of Haddonfield, Illinois, where he goes on a killing spree. It is up to Laurie Strode, Michael’s sister’s friend, and Dr. Loomis, his psychiatrist, to try and stop him before he kills anyone else. With its iconic soundtrack, classic slasher elements, and memorable characters, Halloween is one of the most influential horror films of all time and is credited with establishing the slasher genre.

Beetlejuice is a 1988 dark fantasy comedy film directed by Tim Burton. It tells the story of a recently deceased couple, Adam and Barbara Maitland, who try to haunt their former home, but find that their house has been taken over by a family of obnoxious yuppies. To regain control of their home, they enlist the help of Betelgeuse (Michael Keaton), a rambunctious and obnoxious ghost. The two quickly learn that Betelgeuse is a very mischievous spirit who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. With his help, the Maitlands are able to scare away the family and reclaim their home. However, Betelgeuse's antics soon spiral out of control, leading to a series of wacky adventures for the Maitlands, their daughter Lydia (Winona Ryder), and the Deetz family. In the end, Betelgeuse is finally able to leave the mortal realm and the Maitlands are able to remain in their home.
