The Legend of Drunken Master is a 1994 martial arts comedy film directed by Chia-Liang Liu and Jackie Chan. The film stars Chan as Wong Fei-hung, a Chinese folk hero who must protect a national treasure from foreigners. Fei-hung is trained in the Zui Quan or "Drunken Fist" style of martial arts, which allows him to use his drunkenness as an advantage in combat. Fei-hung embarks on a journey to recover the stolen Chinese artifact and protect his country from the foreign invaders. Along the way, he encounters various enemies, including a powerful British boxer and a kung fu master. With his martial arts skills and newfound ability to utilize his drunkenness to his advantage, Fei-hung is ultimately triumphant.

Police Story is a 1985 Hong Kong martial arts action film directed by Jackie Chan and Chi-Hwa Chen. It stars Chan as a Hong Kong police inspector named Ka-Kui who is trying to bring down a drug smuggling syndicate. The film follows Ka-Kui as he investigates the syndicate, often by means of spectacular stunts, and encounters a number of antagonists and allies in his pursuit of justice. Along the way, Ka-Kui must also deal with his own personal issues, including his relationship with his girlfriend and his frustrations with his superiors in the police department. The film features a number of Chan's trademark action sequences, including a climactic fight in a shopping mall. The film was a box office success and is widely regarded as one of Chan's most influential films, spawning a number of sequels and inspiring other martial arts films.
