Jaws is a 1975 thriller directed by Steven Spielberg. The film follows a small island community, Amity, as they are terrorized by a great white shark. Chief Brody (Roy Scheider) must battle the shark while trying to protect his townspeople, as well as the tourist population that comes to the island. He teams up with a marine biologist (Richard Dreyfuss) and a professional shark hunter (Robert Shaw). Together, the trio take on the monster shark, in a race against time before it can devour more lives. The suspenseful and intense movie is considered one of the most influential of all time.

The Birds is a 1963 psychological horror-thriller film directed by Alfred Hitchcock, based on the story of the same name by Daphne du Maurier. The film follows the story of wealthy socialite Melanie Daniels, who travels to Bodega Bay, California to meet with a handsome attorney, Mitch Brenner. However, upon her arrival, she is attacked by a flock of birds. It soon becomes clear that the birds of the area have become enraged, violently attacking the villagers and wreaking havoc. As the situation becomes increasingly dire, Melanie and Mitch must figure out a way to survive the onslaught of avian aggression. The film is a suspenseful examination of the fragility of human life in the face of the unexpected, and its underlying themes of nature versus civilization make it an enduring classic.
