The two are joined by Will's former love, Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley). The trio find themselves pursued by the cursed crew of the Black Pearl, led by the dreaded Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush). They must find a way to stop the curse, rescue Elizabeth, and save the day. Along the way they encounter a variety of pirates, curses, and curses of their own. The movie is a classic swashbuckling adventure full of action, humor, and a few surprises.

The film stars Robert De Niro, Chazz Palminteri, and Lillo Brancato, Jr. in the lead roles, and is loosely based on Chazz Palminteri's one-man show at the Westside Theatre in 1989.
