Virunga is a 2014 documentary film directed by Orlando von Einsiedel. It follows a group of brave individuals who are risking their lives to protect the last remaining mountain gorillas in Virunga National Park, situated near the border between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda. The documentary follows park ranger Emmanuel de Merode, veterinarian Dr. Emmanuel Gambari, and the park's director, Andre Bauma, as they work to protect the park and its wildlife from a variety of threats, including armed militia groups, poachers, and the planned development of an oil field within the park. As they fight to protect the park, the film also examines the politics of the region and the human cost of the conflict in the Congo. Ultimately, the film shows how a small group of heroic individuals can make a difference in the face of overwhelming odds.

The film follows Morris and two other inmates, Clarence Anglin (Jack Thibeau) and John Anglin (Fred Ward), as they plan and execute one of the most daring prison escapes in American history. Over the course of the movie, Morris and the Anglin brothers meticulously plan their escape, gathering tools and resources necessary to make their escape possible. After several failed attempts, the escape is eventually successful, with the three prisoners managing to break out of Alcatraz, leaving authorities baffled by their disappearance. Despite an extensive search, the three were never found. The film ends with the assumption that they were successful in their escape.
