Virunga is a 2014 documentary film directed by Orlando von Einsiedel. After several failed attempts, the escape is eventually successful, with the three prisoners managing to break out of Alcatraz, leaving authorities baffled by their disappearance. Despite an extensive search, the three were never found. The film ends with the assumption that they were successful in their escape.
