The film follows the two boys over the course of five years and documents the struggles they face—including poverty, family hardships, and academic struggles—in order to make it to college and, potentially, the NBA. Throughout the film, the audience is shown the boys’ relationships with their families and coaches, as well as the influence of race and class in their lives.
