Kubo and the Two Strings is a 2016 stop-motion animated adventure fantasy film directed by Travis Knight and written by Marc Haimes and Chris Butler. The film's plot centers around Kubo, a young Japanese boy living with his mother on a remote island. One fateful day, Kubo's peaceful life is turned upside down when he accidentally summons an evil spirit from the past. Now on the run, Kubo embarks on a quest to save his family and solve the mystery of his father's mysterious past. Along the way, he is joined by an unlikely team of allies, including Monkey and Beetle. Together, they must battle gods and monsters, overcome obstacles, and discover the secret legacy of Kubo's family before it's too late. Along the way, Kubo learns the importance of family and discovers the power of storytelling.
