Top Gun: Maverick is an upcoming American action drama film directed by Joseph Kosinski and written by Ehren Kruger. The film is a sequel to the 1986 film Top Gun, starring Tom Cruise as ace fighter pilot Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, Val Kilmer as Tom "Iceman" Kazanski, Glen Powell as Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw, Miles Teller as Lt. Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw Jr., Jennifer Connelly as Penny Benjamin, and Jon Hamm as SecNav. The film follows Maverick as he returns to the flight school to train a new generation of fighter pilots, and confronts the past and present of his career and personal life. Maverick is determined to face the ghosts of his past to prove he is still the best of the best. With his elite group of aerial adversaries, Maverick embarks on a dangerous mission that will test his limits and his loyalty to his fellow servicemen.

The story culminates in a climactic confrontation between the human crew and the alien intelligence. Along the way, the film explores themes of technology, human progress, and the nature of existence.

Catch Me If You Can is a 2002 biographical crime drama film directed by Steven Spielberg. It follows the story of con artist Frank Abagnale Jr., who before his 19th birthday, successfully posed as a Pan American World Airways pilot, a Georgia doctor, and a Louisiana parish prosecutor. He cashed millions of dollars in fraudulent checks while evading capture by FBI agent Carl Hanratty. Eventually, however, Hanratty catches up with Abagnale and the two form a strange relationship, with Abagnale helping the FBI, while gradually gaining Hanratty's trust and friendship. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks and also features Christopher Walken, Martin Sheen, and Nathalie Baye.

Wild Tales is a 2014 Argentinian anthology comedy-drama film directed by Damián Szifron. The film is composed of six standalone short stories, all of which feature dark, often destructive comedy and ironic twists. Each story follows a different set of characters and story arcs, but they all share a common theme: the human reaction to revenge, betrayal, and injustice. The stories range from absurdly comedic to deeply dramatic, and explore themes such as class conflict and the consequences of violence. Wild Tales won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, as well as multiple other international awards.

Airplane! is a 1980 American comedy film directed and written by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker, and Jerry Zucker. The film follows a dysfunctional passenger plane crew and their attempts to get the plane back on course during a storm. The film stars Robert Hays as Ted Striker, Julie Hagerty as Elaine Dickinson, and Leslie Nielsen as Dr. Rumack. Other notable cast members include Robert Stack, Lloyd Bridges, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The film is filled with satirical gags and visual comedy, and is widely considered one of the best comedy films of all time. It spawned two sequels, Airplane II: The Sequel (1982) and Airplane! (1982). The film was a critical and box office success, and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.

Apollo 13 is a 1995 space drama film directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton, Gary Sinise, Ed Harris, and Kathleen Quinlan. The film chronicles the events of the Apollo 13 lunar mission in 1970, and the unsuccessful attempt of the crew to make it safely back to Earth. After the oxygen tank explodes on board the spacecraft, the astronauts, Jim Lovell (Hanks), Fred Haise (Paxton), and Jack Swigert (Bacon), must work together to survive, while mission control back on Earth scrambles to find a way to bring them home. With limited resources, the crew must rely on their wits, determination, and the support of their families and the entire world, in order to make it home. Through a series of difficult and dangerous maneuvers, the crew is eventually able to return to Earth, in what is now considered a "successful failure".

United 93 is a gripping, intense docudrama that tells the story of the real-life tragedy of United Flight 93, which was hijacked on September 11, 2001. Directed by Paul Greengrass, the film follows the events of the flight from takeoff to the crash in a field in Pennsylvania, capturing the heroism and courage of the passengers who fought to stop the hijackers. The movie also features the reactions of air traffic controllers, military personnel, and members of the FBI in the aftermath of the harrowing events. The film serves as an emotional tribute to the passengers and crew who gave their lives in order to save the lives of others and it is a compelling reminder of the impact of the events of 9/11.

The Aviator is a biographical drama directed by Martin Scorsese and released in 2004. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio as American aviator, film producer, and business magnate Howard Hughes. The film chronicles Hughes' life from the late 1920s to the 1940s, during which time he became a successful film producer and an aviation pioneer, while simultaneously battling severe mental illness. The film follows Hughes' rise to fame and wealth, his obsessive quest for aviation records and innovation, and his struggles with his mental health, ultimately leading to his fall from grace. The film also explores Hughes' relationships with his business partners, family, and a bevy of Hollywood starlets. The Aviator was a critical and commercial success and was nominated for eleven Academy Awards, winning five.

Along the way, she must use her wits, charm, and street smarts to stay one step ahead of everyone else. The film is an homage to the blaxploitation films of the 1970s, and features an all-star cast including Robert Forster, Samuel L. Jackson, Bridget Fonda, and Robert De Niro.
