Rushmore is an American comedy-drama film directed by Wes Anderson and released in 1998. It follows the story of Max Fischer (Jason Schwartzman), an eccentric and precocious 15-year-old student at Rushmore Academy, who finds himself in competition with an equally eccentric and wealthy industrialist, Herman Blume (Bill Murray), for the affections of an elementary school teacher, Miss Cross (Olivia Williams). As the two battle for her attention, Max's mischievous antics embroiled him in a feud with the school's headmaster, Dr. Guggenheim (Brian Cox). As the feud escalates, Max must face the consequences of his behavior and ultimately come to terms with his own ambitions and limitations. The film also stars Seymour Cassel, Mason Gamble, and Luke Wilson.
