Silver Linings Playbook is a romantic comedy-drama directed by David O. Russell, about a man named Pat Solitano (Bradley Cooper) who has recently been released from a psychiatric hospital following a breakdown. He moves back in with his parents, who are trying to help him get his life back together. He meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), a young woman with her own set of emotional issues. The two eventually form a bond and end up competing together in a dance competition. Along the way, Pat learns to accept his circumstances and find joy in the small moments of life. The film won the Academy Award for Best Actress (for Lawrence) and was nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actress.
