The Silence of the Lambs is a psychological thriller directed by Jonathan Demme and based on the 1988 novel of the same name by Thomas Harris. The film follows rookie FBI agent Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) as she is tasked by her superior Jack Crawford (Scott Glenn) to interview the imprisoned serial killer Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins), in the hopes of gathering information that will help her catch another serial killer, Buffalo Bill (Ted Levine). With Lecter's help, Clarice slowly begins to unravel the clues that will eventually lead her to Buffalo Bill, but as the case progresses, she discovers that Lecter may be playing a much more sinister game with her. As she moves closer to the truth, she must face the darkness within herself and come to terms with her own identity. The Silence of the Lambs is a chilling and suspenseful story of horror, masterfully told, and is widely considered one of the greatest films of all time.
