Evil Dead II is a 1987 American horror comedy film directed by Sam Raimi and starring Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams. The film is a sequel to the 1981 film The Evil Dead, and is the second installment in the Evil Dead franchise. The film follows Ash and his girlfriend Linda, who are terrorized by demonic forces, including the "Deadites", from the book of the dead. Ash is forced to battle the evil forces using a shotgun, a chainsaw, and his "boomstick". The film has become a cult classic for its blend of horror and comedy, as well as its over-the-top gore and comic violence.
