X-Men: Days of Future Past is directed by Bryan Singer and is the seventh installment of the X-Men film series. The story follows the X-Men of the future attempting to change the past in order to save both mutants and humans from a future where robots called sentinels hunt and kill both mutants and humans. To do this, the X-Men enlist the help of Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), who is sent back in time to 1973 in order to enlist the help of the younger versions of Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy) and Magneto (Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender). Wolverine must convince the younger versions of the two to work together in order to stop a plot by Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage) to create a weapon that will destroy all mutants. In the end, the X-Men succeed in preventing the future of sentinels and mutants and humans are saved.

X-Men: First Class is a 2011 American superhero film directed by Matthew Vaughn, based on the X-Men characters appearing in Marvel Comics. The film tells the origin story of the X-Men, focusing on the relationship between Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender). As children, they witness a demonstration of Xavier's telepathy and Lehnsherr's newly discovered power to manipulate metal. Their paths later separate, as Xavier becomes a professor at the newly established Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, while Lehnsherr becomes a ruthless and destructive mutant terrorist, known as "Magneto".
