The Prestige is a 2006 mystery-drama film directed by Christopher Nolan. The story follows two rival stage magicians in London at the end of the 19th century. Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) and Alfred Borden (Christian Bale) were once friends, but a tragic accident has turned them into bitter enemies. As their rivalry intensifies, they attempt to outdo each other with increasingly dangerous and elaborate magic tricks. The film follows the two as they embark on a obsessive and dangerous quest for the ultimate illusion. The movie focuses on the cost of obsession, and explores the devastating consequences that follow when one of the rivals finally discovers the secret to the other's trick.

The Illusionist is a spellbinding 2006 romantic drama from director Neil Burger. Set in Vienna, Austria in 1900, the film tells the story of a gifted magician, Eisenheim (Edward Norton), who uses his skills to win the heart of the woman he loves, Duchess Sophie von Teschen (Jessica Biel). When the Duchess's powerful fiancé, Prince Leopold (Rufus Sewell), becomes aware of their relationship, he attempts to destroy Eisenheim's career and love life. To protect himself and the Duchess, Eisenheim engages in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with the Prince. With a combination of passion and powerful illusions, Eisenheim and the Duchess attempt to outwit the Prince and ultimately find a way to be together. Along the way, they discover the power of real love and the lengths people will go to protect it.

The Magician is a psychological horror film directed by Ingmar Bergman in 1958. It follows a travelling magician named Albert Emanuel Vogler as he visits a small Swedish town in order to perform his act. Vogler's mysterious and unsettling presence soon reveals a hidden power within him, as he uses his magic to manipulate the people of the town and to explore the depths of their souls. Through a series of intense and thought-provoking scenes, the film paints a vivid portrait of the human psyche and its capacity for both good and evil. In the end, Vogler's mysterious powers are not enough to save him from himself as he is confronted with his own dark secrets and must accept the tragic consequences.
