The film follows a police chief, a marine scientist, and a grizzled fisherman as they hunt a great white shark that is terrorizing the fictional New England resort town of Amity Island. With its iconic score composed by John Williams and its groundbreaking special effects, Jaws is widely regarded as one of the greatest films ever made and is often considered the first summer blockbuster. The success of Jaws helped to launch the career of Spielberg and jump-started the modern Hollywood era.
