Brock takes Dawn to Washington, DC, to help him land a business deal, but he soon realizes she is an embarrassment and hires a newspaperman, Paul Verrell (William Holden), to teach her some sophistication. As Dawn learns about the world and begins to think for herself, she starts to realize how she is being taken advantage of and eventually puts her newfound knowledge to use in order to help Brock and protect her own interests.
