Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a science fiction action film directed by Rupert Wyatt and released in 2011. Set in present-day San Francisco, the film follows the story of a genetically-enhanced chimpanzee named Caesar who, due to the unethical experiments of a scientist named Will Rodman, is granted increased intelligence. Caesar soon finds himself leading a revolution of apes as they fight for their freedom and attempt to overthrow human society. Caesar also must face his own internal struggle, as his enhanced intelligence causes him to question his own nature and his place in the world. Through his journey, he eventually manages to build a strong ape community and leads them to victory against their human oppressors.

Train to Busan is a 2016 South Korean action-horror film directed by Yeon Sang-ho. The film follows a group of passengers who find themselves on a train to Busan during a zombie apocalypse. Seok-woo (Gong Yoo), a workaholic father, and his daughter Su-an (Kim Su-an) board the train, unaware of the danger they are in. As the train progresses, the passengers soon become aware of the threat and must fight against hordes of zombies in order to survive and reach their destination. Along the way, Seok-woo and Su-an must rely on the help of fellow passengers, including a security guard and a mysterious young man, to make it to safety. Along the way, the passengers must face their own inner demons and inner conflicts, while struggling to stay alive. In the end, the group learns that the only way to survive is to work together.
