Juno is a 2007 American coming-of-age comedy-drama film written by Diablo Cody and directed by Jason Reitman. The film stars Ellen Page as the title character, an independent-minded teenager confronting an unplanned pregnancy and the subsequent events that put pressures of adult life onto her. The film follows Juno MacGuff, a high-school aged girl living in Minnesota who, after a one-time sexual encounter with her best friend Paulie Bleeker, discovers she is pregnant. After contemplating abortion, Juno decides to give the baby up for adoption. With the help of her friend Leah, Juno searches for the perfect parents for her unborn child and eventually decides on Vanessa and Mark Loring. Juno soon develops a close bond with both Vanessa and Mark and in the process, learns more about herself and the complexities of adulthood. Overall, Juno is a story of growth and change, as the film's protagonist Juno learns to make tough decisions and understand the responsibilities of adulthood. It's a coming-of-age story that offers an honest and clever look at teenage pregnancy and the struggles of growing up.
