Omar is a Palestinian drama film directed by Hany Abu-Assad and released in 2013. It tells the story of Omar (Adam Bakri), a Palestinian baker and freedom fighter who becomes involved in an intricate plot with his two childhood friends, Amjad (Samer Bisharat) and Tarek (Eyad Hourani). Omar is arrested by Israeli forces and offered a deal: he must infiltrate his friends’ resistance cell and report back on their activities in exchange for his release. He reluctantly agrees, but soon finds himself tasked with a much heavier burden as he must decide between his loyalty to his friends and his love for Nadia (Leem Lubany), a young woman with whom he shares a forbidden romance.
