Edward Scissorhands is a 1990 American romantic fantasy film directed by Tim Burton. It stars Johnny Depp as an artificial man named Edward, an unfinished creation who has scissor blades instead of hands. After being discovered and taken in by a suburban family, he struggles to fit in and find his place in society. Despite his unnatural appearance, Edward quickly develops a strong bond with the suburban community and even falls in love with the daughter of his adoptive family. However, his differences ultimately create a rift between him and the community, and he is eventually forced to leave.
