Aliens (1986) is a science fiction horror film directed by James Cameron. It is the sequel to the 1979 film Alien and stars Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley, the sole survivor of the original film. The story follows Ripley as she is rescued from her 57 years in stasis after her ship's computer has been destroyed. She returns to the planet LV-426, the planet where the alien was first discovered, to help a group of Colonial Marines investigate why contact was lost with the colony. The marines soon find out that the colonists have been wiped out by a horde of alien creatures, now dubbed "Xenomorphs", which have been breeding in the atmosphere. With her knowledge of the alien species, Ripley helps the marines to fight off the Xenomorphs and eventually finds a way to destroy them. The group then escapes the planet with the help of a synthetic android named Bishop. Aliens is considered one of the best sequels ever made, and it was praised for its action sequences and horror elements. It was a box office success and spawned two more sequels, Alien 3 (1992) and Alien: Resurrection (1997).

The Thing is a science fiction horror film directed by John Carpenter and released in 1982. It is based on the 1938 novella Who Goes There? by John W. Campbell Jr. Set in an Antarctic research station, The Thing follows a group of American researchers who discover an alien life form that can assume the form of any organism it assimilates. The researchers must battle the alien, which has been lying dormant in the icy wastes for thousands of years, before it can spread to the outside world. The Thing quickly becomes a fight for survival as the team members become paranoid and start to turn on each other. In the end, it is revealed that the alien was not the only thing they were fighting against.

The Terminator is a 1984 science fiction action film directed by James Cameron. With the help of Reese and a series of unexpected allies, Sarah manages to elude the Terminator and protect her son, John Connor, from Skynet's attempt to erase his existence. The film is widely considered to be one of the greatest action films of all time.
