Sideways follows two 40-something men, Miles and Jack, on a week-long trip through California's wine country. Miles is a depressed, failed author with a deep passion for wine, while Jack is a soon-to-be-married actor with a proclivity for pleasure-seeking. As the two friends explore the vineyards and sample the offerings, Miles falls for the sultry waitress, Maya, while Jack pursues a series of trysts. As their journey progresses, the men come to terms with their past and face the uncertainty of their future.
