Young Frankenstein is a 1974 American comedy horror film directed by Mel Brooks and starring Gene Wilder, Peter Boyle, Marty Feldman, Cloris Leachman, Madeline Kahn, Teri Garr, and Gene Hackman. The film is a parody of the classic horror film genre, in particular the 1931 film Frankenstein and its 1939 sequel, Son of Frankenstein. The plot follows Victor Frankenstein, a descendant of the infamous Dr. Frankenstein, as he attempts to fulfill his ancestor's legacy by bringing a corpse back to life, with the help of his hunchbacked assistant Igor, his lab assistant Inga, and the mysterious Frau Blücher. Along the way, Victor struggles with the monster's increasing strength and his own conscience, as his creation's actions become increasingly destructive. In the end, Victor must choose between reining in his creation or letting him wreak havoc on the world.

Frankenstein is a classic 1931 horror film directed by James Whale and starring Colin Clive, Mae Clarke, John Boles, and Boris Karloff. Based on the novel of the same name by Mary Shelley, the film tells the story of Dr. Henry Frankenstein, a scientist who creates a monster from the body parts of corpses. Though it initially appears to be successful, the creature soon escapes and wreaks havoc on the countryside. Frankenstein and his assistant, Fritz, attempt to capture the creature with no success. Eventually, Frankenstein realizes that the creature must be destroyed and sets out to do so. However, his plan ends in tragedy when his beloved fiancée is killed by the monster. The film ends with Frankenstein dying from a broken heart and the creature vanishing into the night.
