The Green Mile is a 1999 drama film written and directed by Frank Darabont, based on Stephen King's 1996 novel of the same name. Set in 1935 on Death Row in a Louisiana prison, the film tells the story of a supernatural event that occurs when a mysterious inmate, John Coffey, is brought to Cell Block E. Coffey possesses a miraculous healing power that he uses to help those around him. Edgecomb and the other guards must come to terms with their own morality as Coffey is put on trial for the murder of two young girls. In the end, Edgecomb is faced with a tough decision: to let Coffey die or to save him and show mercy. The Green Mile is a powerful and emotional tale of faith, hope, and justice.
