Thor: Ragnarok is a 2017 American superhero film directed by Taika Waititi. The movie is based on the Marvel Comics character Thor and stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo, and Anthony Hopkins. The film follows Thor as he attempts to prevent the end of Asgard, the realm of the gods, and the onset of Ragnarok—the Norse apocalypse. To do this, he must first confront the powerful villain Hela, the goddess of death, and battle a host of other formidable enemies. Along the way, he is aided by his brother Loki, a fellow Avenger named the Hulk, and an unexpected ally from his past. In the end, Thor must use all of his skills to save Asgard and restore order to the cosmos.
