Midnight Run is a 1988 American action comedy film starring Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin. The film follows a bounty hunter, Jack Walsh (De Niro), as he attempts to bring a former mob accountant, Jonathan "The Duke" Mardukas (Grodin), to Los Angeles alive and collect a large reward. Along the way, the two must contend with both the mob and the FBI, as well as their own bickering and personal differences. Ultimately, they must confront their own mortality as they journey towards an uncertain fate. Overall, the movie is a unique blend of Western and metaphysical themes, filled with dark humor and a somber tone.
