When strange phenomena start to occur in the house, Grace becomes convinced that she is not alone, and that someone or something is in the house with them. Despite a series of frightening incidents and the children’s insistence that there are three “others” living in the house, Grace refuses to admit that there is any danger. As the story unfolds, it is revealed that the mansion is haunted by ghosts from the past, who are determined to keep Grace and her children from leaving. In the end, Grace discovers the truth about the "Others" and manages to save her family from the supernatural forces.
