The Sixth Sense is a supernatural horror-thriller film written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. It tells the story of Cole Sear (played by Haley Joel Osment), a troubled, isolated boy who is able to see and talk to the dead, and Malcolm Crowe (played by Bruce Willis), a child psychologist who tries to help him. The film follows Crowe as he attempts to uncover the truth behind Cole’s abilities, while also dealing with his own unresolved issues. As the story progresses, it is revealed that Cole is seeing ghosts of people who have died and are either stuck in limbo or are seeking closure in the form of delivering a message to the living. With the help of Crowe, Cole is finally able to come to terms with his gift and help the spirits of the dead move on to the afterlife. The film ends with a shocking twist, which reveals the truth about the ghost's true identities.

The story revolves around a grieving mother, Grace, who lives in a large, isolated house with her two photosensitive children Anne and Nicholas. After numerous strange events begin to occur in the house, Grace becomes convinced that her children are being visited by ghosts. She hires three servants to help look after her children and protect them from the unseen entities. As the story progresses it is revealed that the house is not haunted by ghosts, but by the souls of the family’s former occupants, each of whom has a tragic story of their own. Through the course of the film, Grace and her children come to terms with the tragedy of their past and ultimately find peace.
