Evil Dead II is a 1987 horror-comedy film directed by Sam Raimi and is a sequel to the 1981 film, The Evil Dead. The film follows Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) as he returns to the cabin in the woods to fight off the Deadites. He is joined by his girlfriend, Linda (Denise Bixler), who is later possessed by the evil force. Ash is then forced to battle the Deadites while trying to save Linda. The film is full of over-the-top effects and slapstick humor, as it follows Ash's increasingly desperate attempts to survive. The film was a box office success and is considered a cult classic, due to its combination of horror and comedy elements. It has since spawned several sequels and a 2013 remake.

Saw is a 2004 horror film directed by James Wan. It follows the story of two men, Adam Faulkner and Dr. Lawrence Gordon, who wake up in a dilapidated bathroom, chained to pipes on opposite sides of a room. They are then forced to play a deadly game set up by the mysterious Jigsaw Killer. The men must deceive each other in order to escape, while attempting to figure out the killer's motives. As the story progresses, a series of gruesome murders and puzzles are revealed. The killer's identity is eventually revealed, leading to a shocking and unsettling conclusion. Saw is an intense thriller that is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats with its unexpected twists and turns.

Dead Alive is a horror-comedy film written and directed by Peter Jackson. It follows Lionel, an awkward young man who falls in love with the beautiful Paquita. When Paquita's unhinged uncle, Uncle Les, is bitten by a Sumatran rat-monkey, he is transformed into a zombie and starts a zombie-creating spree that threatens to take over the town. Lionel must find a way to protect his beloved, combat his own fears and put a stop to the zombie plague. With the help of his equally awkward best friend, a priest, and a local storeowner, Lionel embarks on a mission of epic proportions to save the town and win the heart of his one true love.

"28 Days Later..." is a post-apocalyptic horror/science fiction film directed by Danny Boyle. The film follows the story of Jim, a young man who wakes up in a hospital bed to find the world gone silent. It is soon revealed that a deadly virus has infected the population of the United Kingdom, leaving it a desolate wasteland. Jim then joins a small group of survivors and embarks on a mission to find a safe place to live. Along the way, they must fight against the infected, as well as military forces that are attempting to contain the virus. The film ends with Jim and his group reaching a hopeful ending, and coming to terms with the need to rebuild society.
