Spirited Away is a 2001 Japanese animated fantasy film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest animated films of all time. The film tells the story of a young girl, Chihiro Ogino, who, while moving to a new neighborhood with her family, gets lost in a mysterious spirit world. In order to return home, Chihiro must work in a bathhouse for the gods and gain the trust of the spirits inhabiting the land. Along the way, she encounters a variety of strange characters, and must outwit a number of magical obstacles. Through her journey, Chihiro learns important lessons about loyalty, courage, and the power of friendship.

Princess Mononoke is a 1997 Japanese animated fantasy adventure film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. Set in feudal Japan during the late Muromachi period, the film follows the story of Ashitaka, a prince of the disappearing Emishi people, as he searches for a cure for a curse afflicting him. As he journeys in search of a cure, he meets San, the Wolf Princess, who was raised by wolves. San, along with Lady Eboshi, the leader of the humans, become embroiled in a battle between the gods of the forest and the humans who consume the forest's resources. The fate of the forest and the future of both humans and gods hang in the balance. Throughout his journey, Ashitaka discovers the truth about the conflict between humans and nature.

Green Book is a 2018 American biographical comedy-drama film directed by Peter Farrelly. It stars Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali as a working-class Italian-American bouncer who becomes the driver of an African-American classical pianist on a concert tour through the Deep South in 1962. The film is inspired by the true story of a tour of the Deep South by African-American classical and jazz pianist Don Shirley and Italian-American bouncer Frank "Tony Lip" Vallelonga who served as Shirley's driver and bodyguard. The film follows the two men as they navigate the deep-rooted racial and economic prejudices of the American South and find common ground. The film was met with praise from critics and won three Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor for Ali, and Best Original Screenplay for Farrelly, Nick Vallelonga, Brian Currie, and Peter Farrelly.

Castle in the Sky is an animated film directed by Hayao Miyazaki and released in 1986. It tells the story of a young boy, Pazu, who discovers a mysterious girl, Sheeta, floating down from the sky. Together, they embark on an adventure to find the legendary floating castle, Laputa, before it is taken over by the evil Colonel Muska and his airship army. Along the way, they encounter both friends and foes, including robot soldiers, secret agents, and a gang of air pirates. The two must rely on their wits and courage to survive the dangerous journey and save the mythical, magical Laputa from destruction.

Loveless is a 2017 Russian drama directed by Andrey Zvyagintsev. Set in Moscow, the film tells the story of a married couple, Zhenya and Boris, who are in the process of divorcing. With their focus on their upcoming lives apart, Zhenya and Boris have neglected their 12-year-old son, Alyosha. One day, Alyosha disappears and the couple must put aside their differences to find him. As the search continues, the couple's broken relationship is exposed and their struggles with guilt, regret, and blame are revealed. As they confront the consequences of their individual choices, they learn to accept the truth of their situation and come to terms with their love for their son.

Dazed and Confused is a 1993 comedy-drama directed by Richard Linklater. The film follows the adventures of a group of high schoolers on their last day of school in Austin, Texas in 1976. Throughout the day, the teens experience the highs and lows of teenage life as they grapple with their changing identities, relationships, and futures. The film's memorable characters include Randall "Pink" Floyd, a high school football star who's trying to decide whether to sign his team's no-drugs pledge; Wooderson, the slightly older, drug-dealing ladies man; Slater, the school's uptight disciplinarian; and Mitch Kramer, a freshman who has his first experiences with beer, marijuana, and girls. As the night progresses, the teens find themselves in a variety of misadventures, including drag racing, partying, and just hanging out. Through it all, the teens come to terms with their lives and learn to accept themselves and their friends.
