Black Sails is a 2014 historical adventure drama directed by Stars. The film follows the adventures of Captain James Flint and his crew of pirates as they sail the high seas of the Caribbean in search of buried treasure. The film stars Toby Stephens as Flint, Jessica Parker Kennedy as Anne Bonny, Hannah New as Eleanor Guthrie, and Zach McGowan as Charles Vane. Set in the 1700s, Black Sails explores the Golden Age of Piracy by showing how Flint and his crew navigate their way around the rival captains, merchants, and captains of their own ship. The film showcases their daring escapades and battles, while also delving into the personal lives of the characters and exploring their motivations and the relationships between them. Along the way, the characters must overcome obstacles and make difficult decisions as they face danger and pressure from all sides.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl is an action-adventure film directed by Gore Verbinski in 2003. It follows the story of Captain Jack Sparrow, a swashbuckling pirate, who seeks revenge against the cursed crew of the Black Pearl, a ship that has been cursed to sail the seas for eternity. Along his journey, he meets Will Turner, a blacksmith, who is trying to save his beloved Elizabeth Swann from the cursed crew. The heroes face off against the evil Captain Barbossa and his cursed crew in order to save Elizabeth and break the curse. With the help of a fellow pirate, Jack outsmarts Barbossa and breaks the curse, restoring the crew back to its original human state. In the end, the heroes succeed and Jack returns to his life of piracy.

With danger and betrayal at every turn, the crew must rely on each other and their own wits to survive.

Captain Phillips is a 2013 American biographical survival thriller film directed by Paul Greengrass and starring Tom Hanks. The film is based on the 2009 hijacking of the U.S. container ship Maersk Alabama by a group of Somali pirates. The film focuses on the relationship between the Alabama's commanding officer, Captain Richard Phillips (Hanks), and the Somali pirate captain, Muse (Barkhad Abdi). When Muse and his crew board the Alabama and take Phillips and his crew hostage, the captain's courage and resourcefulness is put to the ultimate test as the pirates try to extract a ransom from the ship's owner. Phillips' courage ultimately leads to a daring rescue mission for the entire crew, led by the U.S. Navy's elite Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team.

When his father dies, Jack is left alone and is soon caught up in a battle between two powerful families - the Mortons and the Veres. With the help of his friends, Jack must use all his wits and skills to unravel the mysterious past of the families and discover the truth behind his father's death. Along the way, Jack must face his own fears and doubts, ultimately learning the true meaning of courage and honor.

With his newfound freedom, Dr. Blood takes on the corrupt Governor of Jamaica and attempts to free the Caribbean of piracy and tyranny. Along the way he also finds love with Arabella Bishop, a woman of noble birth who has been abducted by the cruel governor. With courage, cunning, and the help of his loyal crew, Dr. Blood is able to defeat the governor and restore peace and justice to the Caribbean.

The Sea Hawk is a 1940 swashbuckler film directed by Michael Curtiz, starring Errol Flynn and Brenda Marshall. It is set in the 16th century and tells the story of Sir Oliver Tressillian, a privateer for Queen Elizabeth I. When the Queen discovers that Spain has signed a secret treaty with the King of Spain, she orders Sir Oliver to take a ship to Spain and foil their plans. He sets sail with a loyal crew, determined to protect the Queen and her country. Along the way, he faces danger and adventure, coming up against the Spanish Armada and the treacherous Don Jose Alvarez de Cordoba. In the end, Sir Oliver succeeds and is honored by the Queen.
