After an unknown virus turns the world's population into zombies, a young man named Columbus (Eisenberg) sets out on a quest to find a safe haven from the impending apocalypse. Along the way, he meets Tallahassee (Harrelson), a gun-slinging survivor, Wichita (Stone) and Little Rock (Breslin), two sisters who are looking for a place to call home, and Bill Murray, himself a zombie. Through their journey, they must battle hordes of zombies while also attempting to survive their own personal conflicts. In the end, they discover that the only way to survive the zombie apocalypse is to work together.

One Cut of the Dead is a 2017 Japanese horror comedy film written, directed, edited, and co-produced by Shin'ichirô Ueda. The film follows a low-budget film crew shooting a zombie movie in an abandoned water filtration plant until they are attacked by real zombies. It is revealed that the film is being shot in one long take, a remarkable 37-minute long take which then leads into a series of flashbacks and other reveals. In the end, it is revealed that the zombie attack was actually staged to create an exciting climax for their low-budget movie, which pays off and becomes a hit. The film follows the crew as they struggle to make the best of their difficult situation and ultimately pull off a stunning success.

Dead Alive is a 1992 horror-comedy film directed by Peter Jackson. The movie follows the story of Lionel, a young man who is in love with a girl named Paquita, and his overbearing mother who disapproves of the relationship. After a failed attempt to break up the couple, Lionel's mother is bitten by a Sumatran Rat-Monkey, turning her into an undead creature. To hide this transformation, Lionel locks his mother in their basement, but the situation quickly spirals out of control as the zombie plague spreads and causes mayhem in the small town. The movie combines horror and comedy with gory effects and unexpected twists. Ultimately, Lionel must find a way to save the town from his mother's zombie army before it's too late.
