Titanic is a 1997 epic romance-disaster film directed, written, and co-produced by James Cameron. A fictionalized account of the sinking of the RMS Titanic, it stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as members of different social classes who fall in love aboard the ship during its ill-fated maiden voyage. The film follows the voyage from the perspective of the two lovers and showcases the destruction of the ship and its sinking in the Atlantic Ocean. Titanic was the first feature-length motion picture to use computer-generated imagery (CGI) to depict the sinking of the ship. It was also the most expensive film ever made at the time of its release and one of the highest-grossing films of all time. The film won 11 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Music (Original Song). It remains one of the most beloved films of all time.

Apollo 13 is a 1995 American space docudrama directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton, Gary Sinise and Ed Harris. The film chronicles the ill-fated 1970 Apollo 13 lunar mission and is based on the book Lost Moon by astronaut Jim Lovell and Jeffrey Kluger. The film follows the mission crew, Jim Lovell (Hanks), Fred Haise (Paxton) and Jack Swigert (Bacon), as they attempt to return to Earth following an in-flight explosion which cripples the spacecraft and endangers the lives of the crew. With the assistance of the ground crew, mission control and the engineers at NASA, the astronauts battle against time and make it back to Earth after a successful "splashdown". The movie highlights the teamwork, bravery and sacrifices made during the mission and celebrates the successful return of the crew.
