The Martian is a sci-fi adventure film set in the near future, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Matt Damon as an astronaut stranded on Mars after a fierce storm. With limited supplies, he must find a way to contact Earth, grow food, and stay alive long enough to be rescued. Along the way, he faces one daunting challenge after another, but with the help of his fellow astronauts and the people of Earth, he ultimately succeeds in his mission.

Total Recall is a 1990 science fiction action film directed by Paul Verhoeven. It stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rachel Ticotin, Sharon Stone, Ronny Cox and Michael Ironside. The film is based on the Philip K. Dick short story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale" and tells the story of a construction worker who discovers he is actually a secret agent and goes on a mission to Mars. On Mars, he discovers a civilization threatened by a dictator and must use his wits and fighting skills to stop the dictator and save the planet. Throughout the film, Schwarzenegger's character Doug Quaid is constantly trying to figure out the truth behind his identity and his mission. In the end, he triumphs and is reunited with his wife, Lori. Total Recall is known for its action-packed scenes, special effects, and twist ending. It was a commercial success, becoming one of the most successful films of 1990, and is widely considered a classic in the science fiction genre.
