Alien is a 1979 science-fiction horror film directed by Ridley Scott. The film follows a group of space-travellers on the commercial towing spaceship, the Nostromo, as they are attacked by an extraterrestrial life form. The crew soon discovers that the alien is a monster, capable of killing them one by one. They must work together to survive and ultimately defeat the alien. The film stars Tom Skerritt, Sigourney Weaver, Veronica Cartwright, Harry Dean Stanton, John Hurt, and Yaphet Kotto. It has become a cult classic and is widely considered one of the greatest science-fiction films of all time.

Black Swan is a psychological thriller directed by Darren Aronofsky. It follows young ballet dancer Nina Sayers as she struggles to perfect her craft and attain the coveted role of the Swan Queen in a production of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. As she prepares for the role, the pressure of her mother and her company’s artistic director take a toll on her mental health. She begins to experience hallucinations, and as the opening night approaches, she finds herself in a battle between her own inner demons and perfectionist ambition. The film is a horror story of sorts, with a darkly surrealistic edge, as Nina comes to terms with herself and the duality of her personality.

King Kong is a 1933 American monster adventure film directed and produced by Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack. The film tells the story of a film crew who travel to a mysterious Skull Island and discover a giant ape, Kong, whom they capture and take to New York. In New York, Kong climbs the Empire State Building and battles a squadron of fighter planes before finally being killed. The movie is considered a classic of the early years of Hollywood, and it spawned numerous sequels and remakes. It has also been selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.

Along the way, relationships are tested and secrets are revealed as the characters struggle to survive in a world that is suddenly no longer safe.

28 Days Later… is a 2002 British post-apocalyptic horror film directed by Danny Boyle. The film follows a group of four survivors in a post-apocalyptic world infected by a virus that causes extreme rage and violence in its victims. The virus is spread through blood and saliva, and quickly turns the entire country into a wasteland. Jim (Cillian Murphy), a bike messenger, wakes up from a coma to find himself alone in an abandoned hospital. He soon meets a few other survivors, including Selena (Naomie Harris), an immune woman, and Mark (Noah Huntley), an army veteran. Together they set out to try and find other survivors, while avoiding the infected. Along the way they team up with a father and daughter, Frank (Brendan Gleeson) and Hannah (Megan Burns). They struggle against the growing horde of infected, as well as the military, who have their own agenda. Eventually, they make it to a safe zone and discover that the virus has spread to other countries as well. The film ends with the group setting out on a new mission to find a cure.

The Crow (1994) follows the story of rock musician Eric Draven (Brandon Lee). After being brutally murdered with his fiancée Shelly (Sofia Shinas), Eric is brought back to life by a mystical crow. With his newfound extraordinary powers, Eric sets out to avenge his own death and the death of his fiancée. With the help of the crow, Eric begins a violent rampage throughout the city, targeting drug dealers, crooked cops, and various criminals involved with his and Shelly's murder. Along the way, he is aided by Sarah (Ernie Hudson) and Albrecht (Michael Wincott), two police officers who recognize his mission for justice. As the body count rises, Eric's hunt for justice leads him to the head of a crime syndicate, Top Dollar (Michael Massee), and ultimately to a final showdown between himself and Top Dollar's henchmen.
