The Blues Brothers is a 1980 American comedy film directed by John Landis and starring John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd as "Joliet" Jake and Elwood Blues, characters developed from The Blues Brothers recurring musical sketch on the NBC variety series Saturday Night Live. After the death of their foster father, the brothers seek to raise enough money to save the Catholic orphanage they grew up in by putting their blues band back together and performing a show at the legendary Chicago Stadium. Along the way, they must cross paths with several nefarious characters, including the Illinois Nazi Party, the police, and a country & western band. Belushi and Aykroyd were accompanied by musicians including Cab Calloway, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, and John Lee Hooker, as well as several popular comedians. Interspersed with the music and comedy, the film is a tribute to the history of Chicago, and features numerous cameos by actors, musicians, and other celebrities.

Hot Fuzz is a 2007 British action-comedy directed by Edgar Wright. The film follows Nicholas Angel, a super-cop sent to a small rural village in the West Country to rein in the overly enthusiastic police force. When a series of mysterious deaths occur in the village, Angel teams up with the bumbling local cop Danny Butterman to uncover a deadly conspiracy. Along the way, Angel learns the importance of friendship and comes to understand that the small town may not be as peaceful as it appears. With its thrilling action sequences, laugh-out-loud comedy, and heartfelt story, Hot Fuzz is a love letter to the buddy-cop genre.

Kung Fu Hustle is a comedy-action movie from director Stephen Chow. Set in 1940s China, the story follows a small-time thief who dreams of becoming a member of the notorious Axe Gang. After a series of mishaps, the thief finds himself in the middle of a turf war between the Axe Gang and a slum neighborhood, known as Pig Sty Alley. Despite the odds, the residents of Pig Sty Alley use their martial arts skills to fight off the gangsters. With the help of a mysterious man, the thief discovers his own hidden martial arts abilities and helps the residents of Pig Sty Alley to defend their home. As the fight intensifies, the thief finds himself in a battle of epic proportions and learns the true meaning of kung fu.

Kick-Ass is a 2010 superhero comedy film directed by Matthew Vaughn, based on the comic book series of the same name by Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr. The film tells the story of Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a teenage boy who, inspired by comic books, decides to become a real-life superhero, taking on the name "Kick-Ass". He is soon joined by another vigilante, Hit-Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz), and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage), who train him in the art of fight. Together they take on a gang of drug dealers led by Frank D'Amico (Mark Strong). The film features an ensemble cast, including Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Chris D'Amico, the son of Frank and the primary antagonist of the film. The film was met with both critical and commercial success and was followed by two sequels, Kick-Ass 2 (2013) and Kick-Ass 3 (2014).

"Lethal Weapon" is a 1987 action film directed by Richard Donner and starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover as mismatched LAPD detectives Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh. Riggs is a former Special Forces operative who is suicidal and Murtaugh is a veteran police officer on the brink of retirement. The two team up to investigate the suicide of a young woman, which leads to a drug trafficking ring. They must battle the mob, led by a ruthless drug lord, and uncover the truth about the girl's death. With their wits and skills, the two detectives bring down the bad guys and save the day.

The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! is a 1988 comedy film starring Leslie Nielsen as Detective Frank Drebin of the LAPD's fictional Police Squad. The film follows Drebin as he attempts to foil an assassination plot against Queen Elizabeth II while in town for a baseball game. Along the way, he encounters a cast of zany characters, including the villainous Vincent Ludwig, played by Ricardo Montalban, and his accomplice Jane Spencer, played by Priscilla Presley. The film is full of slapstick comedy, witty one-liners, and outrageous sight gags. The farcical plot is driven by a series of mismatched couples, mistaken identities, and an ever-growing series of misunderstandings. The film was a hit at the box office, spawning two sequels and a short-lived television series.

The Legend of Drunken Master is a 1994 Hong Kong martial arts action-comedy film directed by Chia-Liang Liu and Jackie Chan. The film follows the story of Wong Fei-hung, a Chinese folk hero, who is tasked with returning stolen antiques to their rightful owners. Along the way, he discovers a secret, ancient martial arts style called "drunken boxing" and must use it to defeat a powerful villain. With the help of his sifu and his friends, Fei-hung must overcome his adversaries and save the day. Along the way, he must also learn more about the power of drunken boxing and how to truly master it. With plenty of impressive martial arts sequences and Chan's signature comedy, The Legend of Drunken Master is an action-packed thrill ride that is sure to please fans of martial arts films.

Police Story is a 1985 Hong Kong action-comedy film directed by Jackie Chan and Chi-Hwa Chen. The film follows the story of Chan Ka-Kui, a Hong Kong police officer who is assigned to protect a witness in a drug trafficking case. However, Ka-Kui soon finds himself at odds with the drug traffickers, and is forced to go on the run and fight back with his own brand of martial arts. Along the way, Ka-Kui must battle ruthless thugs, as well as his own superiors, in order to save the witness and bring the criminals to justice. The film is known for its inventive and exciting action sequences, which feature Chan performing many of his own stunts. Police Story was a commercial success and has since become a classic of Hong Kong cinema.

Midnight Run is a 1988 action-comedy film directed by Martin Brest and starring Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin. The plot follows a bounty hunter named Jack Walsh (De Niro) who is assigned to track down an ex-mob accountant named Jonathan "The Duke" Mardukas (Grodin). With the mob hot on his tail, Jack has to transport Mardukas across the country while dealing with Mardukas' antics. Along the way, Jack is pursued by FBI agents, the mob, and his rival bounty hunter Marvin Dorfler (John Ashton). The film culminates in a wild car chase and shootout as Jack and Mardukas attempt to make their midnight run to safety.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is a 2010 action-comedy film based on the graphic novel series of the same name by Bryan Lee O'Malley. The film follows Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera), a slacker musician who must defeat his new girlfriend Ramona Flowers' (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) seven evil exes in order to win her heart. Along the way, he must contend with the mysterious Gideon Graves (Jason Schwartzman) and confront the ghosts of his past. The film is a visually stunning combination of music, romance, and action, as Scott and his friends battle to the death against the evil exes.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a 2005 neo-noir black comedy crime film directed by Shane Black and starring Robert Downey Jr., Val Kilmer, and Michelle Monaghan. The film follows Harry Lockhart, a petty thief from New York City who dreams of becoming an actor. After a chance encounter with a private detective, Harry is mistaken for an actor and brought to Los Angeles for an audition. While there, he gets caught up in a murder investigation involving his childhood friend Harmony Lane and her partner, a homosexual private detective. Along the way, Harry learns the truths about himself, his past, and the world around him. As he delves deeper into the investigation, he must use his wits and charm to stay alive and solve the mystery.
