The Kite Runner is a 2007 drama directed by Marc Forster, adapted from the bestselling novel by Khaled Hosseini. It follows the story of Amir, a young Afghani-American living in California, who is haunted by his childhood memories of growing up in Afghanistan. The story begins when Amir and his father flee Afghanistan following the Russian invasion and the subsequent massacre of the Hazara people. Years later, Amir is offered a chance to redeem himself when his father's servant, Rahim Khan, summons him back to Kabul. Upon his return, Amir learns of his friend Hassan's plight. Hassan has been wrongfully accused of a crime and Amir is determined to help him. He sets out on a dangerous journey to a refugee camp in Pakistan, where he discovers the truth about Hassan's fate. Amir returns to Kabul filled with guilt and shame for not helping Hassan. In the end, he must confront his own demons, confront the Taliban regime and make peace with his past in order to find redemption.

The mission goes awry and the four men find themselves surrounded by Taliban forces. The SEALs must try to outwit and outfight the enemy in order to survive. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch, Ben Foster, Yousuf Azami and Ali Suliman. It is a gripping, intense, and incredibly realistic depiction of the horrors of war.
