As their feud becomes increasingly personal and their tricks become more dangerous, the men are driven to the brink of madness, pushing their friendship to the brink of destruction. The film features an ensemble cast including Michael Caine, Scarlett Johansson, and David Bowie. The Prestige is acclaimed for its visual style, narrative structure, and strong performances.

The Illusionist is a 2006 romantic mystery drama film directed by Neil Burger and starring Edward Norton, Paul Giamatti, and Jessica Biel. His powerful illusions eventually bring his past to light and threaten to shake the foundations of the Austrian Empire. The film is set in 1900 Vienna and follows Eisenheim's love affair with the Duchess von Teschen (Biel), and his subsequent struggle with her betrothed, the Crown Prince Leopold (Rufus Sewell). As he attempts to win the love of the Duchess, Eisenheim finds himself in conflict with Chief Inspector Uhl (Giamatti). The film follows the characters as they race to uncover a secret that could change the fate of the Austrian Empire. Through the use of his illusions, Eisenheim seeks to expose the truth of Leopold's corruption.

The Magician (1958) is a Swedish drama film directed by Ingmar Bergman. It stars Max von Sydow as Albert Emanuel Vogler, a traveling mesmerist and magician of the 19th century. As his notoriety grows, the cynical and egotistical Vogler is hired by a mysterious noblewoman, the Baroness, to prove that his magic is real. Vogler must face a series of tests by the skeptical court, while also dealing with a sinister medical practitioner who is determined to expose Vogler as a fraud. In the end, Vogler must rely on his magical powers to save himself and those he loves. The Magician is a unique and captivating film that showcases Bergman's masterful direction and beautiful cinematography.
