The Nightmare Before Christmas is a 1993 stop-motion fantasy horror film directed by Henry Selick and produced and conceived by Tim Burton. The film follows Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloweentown, who is bored with the same annual routine of frightening people in the "real world". He stumbles upon Christmas Town, and when he is mistaken for Santa Claus, he decides to bring the joy of Christmas to his home. He assigns the task of delivering presents to all the children of the world to the mischievous Oogie Boogie who, in his attempt to take over Christmas, traps Santa Claus and Jack's friends. Jack must find a way to save Santa and his friends before Oogie Boogie destroys Christmas forever. The film features songs with lyrics and musical score composed by Danny Elfman. It was released on October 29, 1993 to critical and financial success, grossing over $75 million during its initial run. The film has since been re-released in 3D and has become a holiday classic, inspiring a video game, action figures, and merchandise.

With the help of his friend Rod (LilRel Howery), Chris must find a way to escape the Armitage family and the dangerous fate they have in store for him. The film explores the themes of racism, cultural identity, and the “sunken place", a state of paralysis caused by fear and powerlessness.

As his secrets become harder to keep hidden, Bateman spirals further and further into a bloody, murderous rampage. With its dark themes and satirical take on the excess and emptiness of the decade, American Psycho is a thrilling and thought-provoking film.

The Fly is a compelling exploration of the consequences of scientific progress, and the horror of losing control of one's own body.
