Jaws is a 1975 classic thriller directed by Steven Spielberg. It is based on the novel by Peter Benchley and tells the story of a small New England town that is terrorized by a great white shark. The movie follows police chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider), marine biologist Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss), and shark hunter Quint (Robert Shaw), as they attempt to hunt down the shark and save the town. The movie is full of intense suspense as the trio look for the shark, culminating in an epic battle between the men and the beast. Jaws is often credited as the first summer blockbuster and its success helped establish the concept of the modern blockbuster. The film was nominated for several Academy Awards and won three, including Best Editing, Best Original Score and Best Sound.
